Case Study Interview Videos For Math

A Sample or Fundamentals?

When you search “Case Interview Video”, chances are that you are looking for either of these two things: (1) videos showing examples of real case interviews or (2) videos of case interview fundamentals. We will cover both of these topics in this post.

1. Video examples of Case Interview:

The No.1 sources of courses are those official videos from McKinsey, Bain, and BCG:

The next best thing is a Case Interview video from MConsultingPrep. It’s far better than those from the market because it’s a part of the End-to-end Secrets program. So you will not only see boring cases, you will also see our detailed feedback on the performance during the process.

Beside the aforementioned, here are some decent resources too:

This is a video I suggest you AVOID:

It’s a terrible video on multiple aspects: the content doesn’t make sense at all, the feedback is not appropriate at all, and the whole video was blatantly scripted. I wrote a very long and detailed comment on that Youtube video, but you can see that Capital One chose the chicken approach by disabling my comment rather than replying upfront to it… Perhaps there’s nothing they can say to defend themselves.

2. Video tutorials guides of Case Interview fundamentals:

Now assuming you want to see Case concepts in video format, here is my all-time favorite Youtube Channel for Case Interview Video: Mconsulting Prep Youtube Channel.

Of course I am trying not to be biased here, but I made this channel based on my view of what the best channel should be like. So obviously, based on my reference and standard system, this is my favorite channel. The content is deep, the teaching is as easy as it can be, the sound and image quality is great, and very importantly the level of entertainment is high. Hope you’ll check it  out and agree with me!

Case Interview Preparation in last minutes

Dear Kim,

I am a 3rd-year undergraduate college student here in India. The idea of working in a management consulting firm really struck me. I’m writing you to ask for your help and advises how to prepare for case interviews.

I am new to the game and often find myself lost in the mist of complicated information flying around me. Your website is mentioned quite often by my school’s consulting club so I am trying my luck here…

a.k.a My Reply:

Thank you for your interest in our website. I totally understand your situation. Usually, the beginning is the most difficult part and I personally feel bad for so many great people (who I think would have made really good consultants) drop out of “the game” just because of the unnecessarily confusing start.

This motivates me a lot in terms of developing easy-to-understand beginner materials available free on multiple channels.

One of our most recent efforts is the series of Youtube videos that explain case interview basics. Let’s check out the first instalment:

After watching the video, you should have a good top-down view of various concepts of the game. You would know exactly what you would want to explore next. There are tons of good follow-up videos and materials that you can check out, such as case interview prep. I won’t bore you by listing them out in this reply, where you go next is up to you.

I hope this answers your question. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions about how to prepare for a case interview. I appreciate you seeking out for help rather than just dropping straight out of the game. Keep up the good determination… you will need a lot of it!
